6.6.9. Replacement of the main brake cylinder and vacuum amplifier

In case of damage of the main brake cylinder it needs replacement. At assembly of the brake cylinder it is necessary to watch purity of a workplace and the collected details carefully.
By preparation for replacement:
— switch off ignition;
— disconnect a negative wire from the rechargeable battery;
— clear in a motor compartment of a surface around the main brake cylinder and impose them with rags;
— several times press a brake pedal to get rid of depression in system;
— merge brake fluid from a tank: on the car with a mechanical box of change of transfers disconnect a hose of supply of brake fluid to the coupling drive, muffle its opening;
— disconnect the socket of the sensor of level of brake fluid in a tank;
— remove a protective cover of the holder of the socket;
— disconnect a vacuum hose from the vacuum amplifier of brakes;

— remove the block of safety locks and put it aside (fig. 6.20, b);
— weaken fastening and take out the air pump from the holder (fig. 6.20, a).
Replacement of the main brake cylinder and vacuum cylinder includes a number of works which should be carried out in such order:

1) remove the main cylinder:
— disconnect brake tubes 1 and 2 from the main cylinder, muffle openings;
— turn out a bolt 4 fastenings of the reducing valve to an arm;
— turn off nuts 3 fastenings of the cylinder to vacuum to the amplifier;
— remove an arm of the reducing valve and the main cylinder with a sealing ring;
2) remove the vacuum amplifier of brakes:
— remove from salon the dashboard, a lock spring bracket, a washer and a pin from a pusher, turn off four nuts of the vacuum amplifier of brakes;
— remove from a motor compartment the vacuum amplifier of brakes and consolidation;
3) establish the vacuum amplifier of brakes:
— clear the vacuum amplifier of brakes and a Torpedo partition;
— put in a motor compartment new laying of the vacuum amplifier of brakes and the vacuum amplifier of brakes on a Torpedo partition, having convinced that the brake pedal correctly rose in a pusher;
— put four nuts from salon (tighten the moment 25 N · l), a pin, a washer and a lock spring bracket on a pusher, the pribotny panel;
— check the stoplight switch;
— connect a vacuum hose to the vacuum amplifier of brakes; put an arm for the reducing valve;
4) install the main cylinder:
— put a new sealing ring on the main cylinder;
— adjust position of the main cylinder: the rod of the vacuum amplifier of brakes has to rise correctly in the main cylinder;
— connect brake tubes to the main cylinder, and also tighten an arm and a bolt of fastening of the drosseliruyushchy valve fingers;
— wrap nuts of fastening of the main cylinder and a bolt of the reducing valve, tighten their moment 25 N · m;
— connect the liquid level sensor socket in a brake tank.
— connect to a tank of the main brake cylinder a hose of supply of brake fluid in the coupling drive (for cars with the mechanical transmission);
5) fill a tank with brake fluid, wrap brake tubes if brake fluid begins to follow. Tighten the moment 14 N · m;
6) deliver the removed knots and details on places:
— hose of preliminary heating;
— protective cover of the holder of the socket;
— the air pump in the holder, the moment of an inhaling of 10 N · m;
— block of safety locks moment of an inhaling of 10 N · m.
7) check pressure in systems of brakes and couplings, if necessary pump over them.
