The mechanism of gear shifting consists of the mechanism of the management of gear shifting located in salon on a tunnel and the executive mechanism located in KP. Both of these mechanisms are connected by a bar of 7 (fig. 5.49).
The mechanism of management of gear shifting is the coulisse 15 installed in the case on two axes providing it four degrees of freedom (i.e. the movement to the right — to the left and forward — back). The lower end of the coulisse is connected by an axis to the bar of the 7th gear shifting connecting the coulisse with the KP executive mechanism.
The executive mechanism consists of four rods 10 and the mechanism of the choice of transfers. On three rods forks 1, 3 and 4 inclusions of transfers with the first on the fifth are fixed. Forks are in continuous gearing with the corresponding synchronized couplings of inclusion of transfers. On the fourth rod there is a parasitic gear wheel of a backing. The mechanism of the choice of transfers transfers the movement from a bar of the 7th gear shifting to one of rods 10.
The mechanism of gear shifting works as follows. The coulisse 15 transfers to a bar 7 rotary and back and forth motion. Rotary motion of a bar 7 will be transformed to back and forth motion of the lever 9 of the choice of transfers, i.e. lifts it or lowers, thereby defines the choice of a rod 10.
Back and forth motion of a bar 7 will be transformed to rotary motion of the lever 9 of the choice of transfers which displaces the chosen rod in one or other party (returnable progressively), moving by means of the fork fixed on a rod the synchronized coupling and including the chosen transfer.
In order to avoid casual inclusion of a backing the lock which is switched-off by the movement up of the blocking handle 12 is installed in the mechanism of the coulisse 15.
On a bar of the 7th gear shifting there is a mechanism 18 allowing to modify installation of the coulisse and the provision of a bar of rather executive mechanism in the transmission.
