5.7.5. Replacement of an epiploon of the right half shaft of KP

For replacement execute the following operations:
a) preparatory operations:
— weaken nuts of fastening of a forward right wheel;
— lift a forward part of the car;
— put basic racks under elements for installation of a jack;
— remove the right wheel;
b) disconnect a rotary fist from the shock-absorber:
— remove an ABS system wire from arms;

— remove a bracket of 3 (fig. 5.44) from fastening of the brake pipeline;
— remove the brake pipeline from an arm;
— turn out the top bolt 1;
— turn out the lower bolt 2;

c) remove a forward mudguard of the engine (fig. 5.23);

d) remove the heat-insulating screen from the right half shaft (fig. 5.26);

e) remove the central longitudinal beam (fig. 5.27);

e) disconnect the right half shaft (fig. 5.31);
— remove two lock pins by means of a mandrel with a diameter of 5 mm;
— wring out a rotary fist and take out a half shaft from the transmission;
g) remove an epiploon:
— remove sealing a ring;
— remove an epiploon;
— clear the case of an epiploon and a shaft.
h) establish a new epiploon of the right half shaft of KP on cars with the M3P transmission:
— grease a contact edge of a new epiploon;

— install the directing plug 999 5621 on a shaft (fig. 5.45);
— install an epiploon on the directing plug;
— remove the tool;
— establish a new sealing ring on a shaft;
On cars with the M5P/M5D transmission:
— grease a contact edge of a new epiploon;

— establish an epiploon on the directing plug 999 5316 (fig. 5.46);
— install an epiploon in the transmission;
— establish a new sealing ring on a shaft;
i) establish a half shaft:

— establish the right half shaft on vents so that openings for lock pins coincided (fig. 5.47). If the opening from the transmission is from below (the space basis between teeths) between two vents, then the corresponding opening has to be in a half shaft at top a half shaft vent and vice versa;
— put the top bolt of fastening of a rotary fist;

Establish two new lock pins (fig. 5.48). Fill with sealant of 1161058-1 opening of the fixing pins;
j) establish the central longitudinal beam and the heat-insulating screen (see subsection. "Installation of the transmission" and fig. 5.27);
k) fix a rotary fist on the shock-absorber (fig. 5.44):
— put two new adjusting bolts and tighten their moment 90 N · m;
— install the pipeline of the brake system in an arm and record a bracket;
— fix an ABS system wire in an arm;
— establish a wheel;
l) check oil level in the transmission and add oil (see subsection. "Installation of the transmission");
m) establish a forward mudguard of the engine (fig. 5.23) and fix it by bolts and screws. Moment of an inhaling of 10 N · m.
