5.1. General informationTransmission is intended for torque transmission from the engine to wheels.
It consists of the following main knots:
— couplings, which function — transfer of rotary motion of a flywheel of a bent shaft of the engine on a main shaft (entrance) of the mechanical transmission (further KP) with a possibility of smooth connection and separation of the last (a flywheel of the engine and main shaft VK);
— transmissions — the device allowing to change the transfer relations and size of the transferred moment to a secondary shaft (or between "entrance" and "exit" of KP);
— the main transfer which leading gear wheel is rigidly connected with a secondary shaft of KP and the conducted (epycyclic) gear wheel through the differential allowing driving wheels to rotate with various speed transfers to last (driving wheels) through half shafts increased in n of times (n — transfer number of the main transfer) the rotary moment.
Coupling, the transmission, the main transfer and gear wheels of the drive of a half shaft are combined in one compact unit.
In the transmission and the main transfer the same oil is used. Oil in the transmission does not need replacement. However there are drain and jellied traffic jams which are used for discharge of oil when replacing the transmission and a doliv of oil if necessary during operation.
The mechanical transmission is installed only with the mechanical drive of a speedometer. Mechanical measuring devices are also connected with the transmission.
There are two different models of the transmission. The model of the transmission depends on torque of the engine. The following combinations are as a result possible:
B4192T B4184S B4204S engine
M3P M3P M5D transmission
Generally difference consists in values of the maximum torque of the engine. Structurally transmissions do not differ. Cogwheels in a box of M5D are slightly wider, than in M3P box. The type of surface treatment of shaft and cogwheels can also differ. One more difference consists that differentials in boxes of M3D and M3P are established in different types of bearings.
