2.28.3. Liquid for the cooling system

The recommended composition of cooling liquid: mix in equal proportions of Volvo antifreeze and water. In need of a doliv never add the cooling system only water.
It is not recommended to mix various grades of antifreezes. Antifreeze prevents corrosion in summertime and formation of ice in winter time. Before sending from manufacturer the car was filled with cooling liquid which provides protection up to minus 35 °C.
Cooling system capacity:
— 6,3 liters — petrol and diesel engines;
— 5,7 liters — petrol engines with a turbo-supercharging;
— 6,0 liters — B4184SJ engines.
It is necessary to check the level of cooling liquid regularly. An inspection should be carried out when the engine cold. Level has to be between tags the MOVE and MIN on a broad tank. It is necessary to add cooling liquid when level falls to MIN tag.
Cooling liquid usually does not demand replacement. However, if you replace cooling liquid independently, it is necessary to provide that the fulfilled cooling liquid was utilized in the way, safe for the environment.

If cooling liquid is required to be filled in when the engine warm, carefully turn off a cover to dump excessive pressure in system.
