2.2. Ignition lock

The lock of ignition has the anti-theft device which blocks a steering wheel, at taking out of a key.

If the key does not turn in the lock with ease, it is necessary to turn slightly a steering wheel from left to right, along with it turning a key in the lock of ignition (fig. 2.6).

Never take out the ignition key from the lock when driving the car or at its towage since at the same time the steering wheel can be blocked and the car will become uncontrollable.

The lock of ignition has the following provisions of a key (fig. 2.7):
— 0 — the provision of locking, a steering wheel is locked when the ignition key is taken out from the lock, all powerful consumers of energy are deenergized;
— I \intermediate position of "radio": at this provision of a key some electric consumers can work (for example, radio), the system of ignition is disconnected;
— II \normal situation when driving: the key is in this situation when driving the car, all consumers of energy can be included;
— III \the provision of launch of the engine (is not fixed): at this position of the ignition key the starter joins (at once after launch of the engine it is necessary to release a key which under the influence of a spring will automatically return back to normal situation (II).

If the engine is not started, it means that the immobilizator is perhaps activated, or the key code is incorrectly read out, or not that key is used. At the same time follows: to check a key, to turn a key back in situation "0" and to try to restart the engine.
